L. M. College of Pharmacy had arranged Heritage Walk 1.0 on 28th January as a part of PARTYCLES 2k18 for the first time in honour of the fact that Ahmedabad has been declared as the Heritage City by UNESCO. The Heritage Walk included sightseeing of some rich heritage sites like Sidi Saiyad Mosque, Swaminarayan Temple, Amdavadi Pol, Tomb of Queen, Manek Chawk, Tomb of King, Jama Masjid and Bhadra Fort. A total distance of 3 km was covered by walking.
Total 79 students were present in Heritage Walk 1.0. The Honorable Principal, Dr. Mahesh Chhabria and Mr. Hemendra Nanavati (Head of the Department, Pharmaceutics) also marked their presence to encourage the students. Everyone reported at Sidi Saiyad Mosque and the last site was Bhadra Fort. Thus the name from Majsid to Mandir.
The volunteers from time to time orated the history of the various sites for the students.
Vijaykumar Bhavsar addressed everyone with a welcome speech. Further Palak Bhat threw light upon the details of Sidi Saiyad Mosque and Tomb of Queen.While Anoushka Bhat acknowledged the students about Swaminarayan temple and Tomb of King. Nirmal Mehta did the same for Amdavadi Pol and Manek Chowk. Sunny Gupta and Yash Mehta spoke about Jama Mosque and Bhadra Fort respectively. At last the vote of thanks was delivered at the Bhadra Fort by Vijaykumar Bhavsar.
Everyone enjoyed to the fullest during the walk. All had breakfast of Tea, Fafda and Kadhi (bought from the famous 120 years old Sweet Shop – Chandravilas Dining Hall) which was sponsored by Dr. Mahesh Chhabria & Mr. Hemendra Nanvati. A game of Antakshari was played which was also joined by Principal sir and Nanavati sir. Some students also seeked blessings at the Bhadra Temple.
The whole Heritage Walk 1.0 was commendably managed by Yash Mehta and Team (Heritage Committee), Mehul Patel and Team (Management Committee), Riya Mistry and Team (Emergency Committee), Yash Bhavsar and Team (Discipline Committee) under the guidance of Vijaykumar Bhavsar (Chief Student Coordinator – PARTYCLES 2k18).
