India has a large number of Pharmacy colleges concluding research work done at both Master & Doctorate level in Pharmaceutical Sciences. However, the quality of work at many of these leaves much to be desired. Therefore, to motivate young researcher and their research guides, the “Rajnibhai V. Patel Trust” launched PharmInnova Award for the best Thesis in pharmaceutical sciences. This award is organized under the Patronage of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and sponsored by Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd.. The prestigious L. M. College of Pharmacy is the coordinator for this event.
Following three students of L. M. College of Pharmacy have won PharmInnova Award 2016-2017:
- Mr. Kiranj Chaudagar, Ph.D. student, guided by Dr. Anita Mehta for the thesis on “Investigation into angiogenic responsiveness of coronary endothelial cells with special references vascular endothelial growth factor” in the department of Pharmacology.
- Mr. Khuman Vikas Paljibhai, M.Pharm student, guided by Dr. Anita Mehta for the thesis on “Investigation in to anti-asthmatic activity of TLR-4 (TOLL LIKE RECEPTOR-4) antagonist in experimental model of asthma in rats” in the department of Pharmacology.
- Mr. Tejal S. Patel, M.Pharm student, guided by Dr. Mamta Shah for the thesis on “Phenylpropanoids from Stachyterpheta indica and its anti-acme activity” in the department of Pharmacognosy.
